I have been seeing Dr. Lou Sclafani for over 8 years and highly recommend his services. I am a sports enthusiast. I love to play golf , ski and coach several teams . I have to travel 3 hours to see Dr. Lou when my disc acts up . I will stay in the Danbury area for 3-5 days at a clip to get daily treatments and it has helped immensely. In February 2014 my husband developed very painful sciatica at the age of 89. I was worried that his pain would keep him from doing all the physical activities he does to maintain his general health. At his age, a debilitating condition can lead to a general decline. BUT he went to Dr. Sclafani, who explained what was happening to his body and how the sciatica could be treated. I have come to Connecticut Family Chiropractic on multiple occasions for over 15 years, for various reasons (stress fractures in my spine, sprained neck, sciatica, debilitating migraines, arthritis pain) and somehow Dr. Sclafani is the only doctor that has truly been able to treat me successfully! I'm not kidding! I moved to Manhattan about 10 years ago and needed care after I had been in a car accident, I found myself at pain management centers and in the offices of orthopedic surgeons, all of which have recommended surgery and strong pain medication which did not work for me! When my oral surgeon told me that I needed to see a special chiropractic physician in the area, I looked at at him with surprise. He said to me just wait until you walk out of that office after your first treatment, you will see results. He said I have sent over 100 patients to this Chiropractic center and almost everyone has gotten better. Well, all i can say is my Oral surgeon was right. This team of chiropractic professionals and the excellent office staff and environment are perfect for healing. I walked out after the first treatment feeling significantly better than i had in several months. Dr. Lou Sclafani and his amazing staff have been in charge of my spine for more than ten years. I have moved all over the state of Connecticut, from Bethel, Norwalk, Fairfield, Farmington and now Greenwich, and have not found a more friendly and knowledgeable practice to keep me healthy. Dr Lou has made house calls, and even treated me at his home on a Sunday morning to keep me out of pain and able to compete at the elite level of Triathlon as a Paralympic Athlete. He is one of the only chiropractors in the state that accepts Medicare and I believe that each member of his staff will do anything to help their patients who arrive to get out of pain. I was referred to the practice when I injured my jaw and every oral surgeon I saw told me that I was a hopeless case and that I would be living on anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers and need extensive surgery, causing paralysis and nerve damage and migraines. Dr Sclafani has been my Chiropractor for over 20 years and he has always given me top notch service and kept my back and neck in fantastic shape. However, I am writing this to shout out to the world how he is a true healer who looks out for patient"s total body wellness. On a visit early this spring I told him I had a swollen gland in my neck. After looking at it, he said it was probably nothing but he booked me for an utra sound just to be safe. It turned out to be tonsil cancer. Instead of telling me that there was nothing he could do to help me as a Chiropractor, he called Sloan Ketttering Hospital, and got me into see the top Dr. in her field, that treated my type o cancer. In addition, he checked in with me weekly to see how my treatment was progressing. When I needed home hydration, he found the solution when my primary care M.D. said he couldn't help. I am pleased to report that I am fully recovered now, and that I now look at Dr. Sclafani as my primary care and wellness physician for everything.
